Arrow Flight Calculator

See arrow drop, time of flight, and a ±3 yard miss band from your chrono speed and finished arrow weight. Drag the sliders. The side view updates as you go. This calculator is free — no account. Confirm speed with a chrono before you hunt.

Speed from a chrono or the KE calculator. Pass ?fps= on the URL to pre-fill.

Side view

Drag the dashed line to inspect drop at any distance along the path.

Trajectory with drag. Drop vs pin is zero when your sight is set for this distance. Drop from apex is how far the arrow falls from its highest point to the target. Shaded band is vertical miss if the animal is ±3 yards from your ranged distance.

Downrange statistics

Speed loss, total drop, drop per yard, and kinetic energy every 5 yards (horizontal launch with drag).

How to use it

  1. Enter arrow speed from a chrono, or link from the kinetic energy calculator with ?fps=.
  2. Set finished arrow weight in grains — scale the whole build, not shaft GPI alone.
  3. Pick tip type, shaft diameter, and fletch count. Drag changes the trajectory.
  4. Read drop and time at your target distance. The shaded band shows vertical error if the animal is three yards short or long.

For uphill or downhill shots, run the shot angle calculator first and use pin yards here, not line-of-sight laser yards.
